Review of Beethoven Triple Concerto Tape

This tape is a true gem: over half an hour of music that felt like stepping into a dreamlike space of pure enjoyment!

What makes it so special to me:

-The composition: Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, Op. 56 is a masterpiece: rich, lyrical, and constantly engaging. Written for piano, violin, and cello, it balances intimacy with scale, and the interplay between the three solo instruments gives the music a depth that never stops unfolding.

-The performers: All four artists deliver an exceptionally refined, confident performance. Beyond sheer technique, what stands out is their communication; the phrasing feels conversational, natural, and alive, as if each player is responding in real time to the others!

-The recording: UltraAnalogue’s reputation is well earned, and this release feels like a showcase of what tape can do at its best. The presentation is strikingly natural, with incredible low-level detail, great sense of space, and an intimacy that makes you forget you’re listening to a recording.

An outstanding work, performed at the highest level and captured with real analogue artistry. It will elevate any capable system and make the entire chain feel more “real.” 5/5, an easy recommendation for music lovers… And also or audiophiles who want to hear what tape can do!
