Dear Ed,<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, most of my weekend was consumed with obligatory, pain-in-the-you-know-where stuff, so I had time to enjoy only two tapes, the Beethoven \u201cGhost\u201d and the Mozart, both of which were \u2013 what shall we say? \u2013 DYNAMIC!!! Oh, my goodness, were they dynamic, absolutely stupendous, exhibiting effortless range \u2013 WOW \u2013 nay, DOUBLE WOW. I\u2019d have to say both these recordings equalled the Rossini\/Gliere in this respect. And of course, all other audio aspects were equally superlative, particularly timbre, which is of particular importance to me.<\/p>\n
By the way, I was amazed by the interplay of the players and their highly apparent chemistry; it seemed they\u2019d been performing together for years.<\/p>\n
I hope to listen to the other two tapes sometime early this week, and after I\u2019ve finished assimilating those, I\u2019ll get back to you with further reflection.<\/p>\n
